The summer of 2010 continues on it's course into history, in a short time it will be just
another memory. I'm hoping that yours will have been pleasant and that it's been spent
with those of which you treasure most. Barb and I have had a great summer with our
friends at the Eagles.
Summer outing this year was a blast. Tubing, horse shoes, karaoke, the campfires and
parties were what the outing is all about. Also the Lansing club did a great job of hosting
the event this year.
During the horseshoe tournament, we took a pause to honor one of our recently deceased members. Brother Darrin Hiatt
who was recently taken from us due to an auto accident was remembered through ceremony and testimonials. Darrin was a
true Eagle. Though only a member for a short while, his eagerness to learn and to help endeared him to all. We will miss
him.
Finally I'd like to remind all that we'll be burning the mortgage and celebrating with a bon fire, band and luau on September
11th. If you only come to one event at the club this year, this is the one to attend.
Best regards, Fred
From Our Worthy President
On August 22nd, we held a horseshoe tournament at the club with 10 teams in attendance. Our sincere
thanks go out to Chris Rector for organizing the event, and to the wonderful members from the
Mason/Holt Aerie who made the event a success. Also, congratulations to Gary Thornsbury and Mike
Atherton who won the tournament by going undefeated!

Would you want your guests to visit and then dump their ashtrays in your yard? Would you like it if "some kids" left trash
and empty cans all over for you to clean up? My guess is that you'd think "Didn't your mother teach you better than
that?" When you use the club's backyard to socialize, remember to respect your fellow Eagle members by cleaning up
after yourself and help to make sure that others do the same.
Speaking of respect......
Think how upset and hurt you would be if you heard something untrue or mean about you being said by Eagle
members. I am not writing to name names or accuse ANYBODY. I just want to remind all of our members
"If I can not speak well of an Eagle, I will not speak ill of him".
Try to remind each other not to spread ill-will. If you hear "it", please let you be the one to stop it.
Thanks for being a respecting Eagle!
